Synopsis
Matthew Walton is a battle-hardened freelance corporate lawyer and an obsessive collector of antique samurai blades, carving out a solitary living in the cutthroat trenches of Manhattan finance. When an enigmatic Kyoto industrialist named Matsuo Noda reaches out from Japan, Walton expects routine legwork: locate a seventy-million-dollar midtown office tower under strict secrecy. But Noda’s secretive firm, Nippon, Inc., holds almost no corporate assets and operates through shadowy, private channels. As Noda begins executing massive, unorthodox hedging maneuvers across global markets, Walton realizes he is not merely facilitating a routine real estate acquisition. Drawn into a perilous labyrinth where high-stakes Wall Street maneuvering collides with ancient warrior traditions and smoldering nationalist ambitions, Walton must decipher the shadowy mastermind’s true agenda before the fragile global economy is shattered. Every move carries deadly consequences in a pulse-pounding collision of modern techno-finance and imperial history.
