Synopsis
Growing up along the sunlit banks of the Mississippi River in the sleepy town of St. Petersburg, young Tom Sawyer has an extraordinary talent for avoiding school, outsmarting his doting Aunt Polly, and turning every mundane chore into a grand enterprise. Together with his irrepressible outcast friend Huckleberry Finn, Tom spends carefree summer days hunting for buried treasure, swimming in hidden river bends, and courting his spirited classmate Becky Thatcher. Yet beneath the town’s lazy, sun-drenched surface, playful boyhood games suddenly give way to genuine peril when Tom and Huck sneak into a graveyard at midnight and witness a horrifying crime. Torn between terrifying secrets and the thrill of adventure, Tom must navigate the murky waters of growing up. Mark Twain crafts an infectious, humorous, and heartwarming portrait of youth, capturing the timeless spirit of childhood freedom, camaraderie, and daring mischief.
