Synopsis
Dr. John Watson, an army surgeon convalescing after harrowing service in Afghanistan, returns to Victorian London looking to rebuild his life on a modest pension. Financial necessity leads him to share lodgings at 221B Baker Street with an eccentric, razor-sharp chemist named Sherlock Holmes. Watson is quickly fascinated by his roommate's bizarre experiments and uncanny powers of observation. When Scotland Yard calls upon Holmes to investigate an abandoned house in Brixton, the duo discovers an American corpse, a horrifying scrawl in blood upon the wall, and not a single wound on the victim. Plunging into London’s murky underbelly, Watson watches in awe as Holmes applies cold scientific deduction to a web of secrets and murder. Atmospheric, suspenseful, and intellectually electrifying, this legendary tale marks the iconic debut of literature’s greatest consulting detective.
