Synopsis
In the foggy, cobblestone heart of eighteenth-century London, barber Sweeney Todd operates a seemingly humble shop on Fleet Street. Beneath his eccentric demeanor and unctuous smile lies a chilling secret, fiercely guarded from his terrified young apprentice, Tobias Ragg. When a seafaring visitor carrying a precious string of pearls steps through Todd’s door for a quick shave and vanishes into thin air, a loyal dog remains on the doorstep, refusing to leave. Meanwhile, the brave and devoted Johanna Oakley seeks answers about her missing lover, Mark Ingestrie, whose fate seems mysteriously bound to the lost gems. As whispers surround Todd’s secluded parlour and the suspiciously savory meat pies sold at Mrs. Lovett’s neighbouring bakery, a gripping web of greed, suspicion, and mortal danger tightens. Darkness lurks behind every razor’s edge in this legendary Victorian thriller.
