The Boy with Wings Completed

Gwenna Williams is a spirited young Welsh girl who escapes the confines of her rainy mountain village to work as a typist in bustling, pre-war London. Living among a lively circle of working girls, she dreams of adventure beyond the office walls. On a radiant May afternoon at the Hendon aerodrome, she catches her first glimpse of the wondrous new flying machines taking to the skies—and instantly loses her heart to a photograph of Paul Dampier, a dashing, dimpled young aviator known as "the boy with wings." When fate brings Gwenna and Paul together, a breathless whirlwind romance blossoms against the sunlit innocence of Edwardian England. Yet the summer of 1914 is rapidly drawing to a close, and looming shadows of the Great War threaten to test their devotion in the dangerous skies above.
