Synopsis
In the decaying, isolated backwater of Dunwich, Massachusetts, an oppressive dread hangs over the shadowy hills and ancient stone pillars. Here, within a desolate farmhouse shunned by fearful locals, the strange and rapidly growing Wilbur Whateley is raised by his albino mother and an eccentric grandfather steeped in dark sorcery. As Wilbur matures at an unnatural pace, whispers of unholy rites, echoing subterranean rumbles, and forbidden pacts trouble the superstitious countryside. Driven by sinister family secrets, Wilbur seeks arcane knowledge buried within the restricted archives of Miskatonic University, drawing the suspicion of the observant scholar Dr. Henry Armitage. Soon, an unspeakable entity harbored in the Whateley home threatens to breach the boundary separating humanity from ancient, incomprehensible dimensions. Suffused with cosmic dread and eerie atmosphere, this chilling tale plunges readers into a nightmarish struggle against monstrous forces lurking just beyond mortal perception.
