Synopsis
In the quiet English village of King’s Abbot, secrets rarely stay buried for long. Village physician Dr. James Sheppard finds himself drawn into a web of intrigue when a wealthy widow dies of an overdose, stirring rumors of blackmail. The tension turns deadly when prominent squire Roger Ackroyd is murdered in his study at Fernly Park just after receiving a fateful letter. With Ackroyd’s erratic stepson missing and suspicion falling on relatives and servants alike, fear grips the parish. Fortunately, Sheppard’s eccentric new neighbor, who recently retired to grow vegetable marrows, is legendary Belgian sleuth Hercule Poirot. Enlisting the doctor as his companion, Poirot begins unraveling a tangled web of deceit. In an atmosphere thick with gossip and hidden motives, every resident conceals something, and the truth demands ruthless scrutiny.
