Synopsis
In the biting cold and swirling gloom of Victorian London, Ebenezer Scrooge sits alone in his freezing counting-house. Bitter, ruthless, and solitary as an oyster, the elderly miser despises Christmas and sneers at human warmth, scoffing at his cheerful nephew and tormenting his shivering, overworked clerk, Bob Cratchit. For Scrooge, life is strictly a balance sheet of profit and loss, where sentiment is sheer foolishness. But on this foggy Christmas Eve, seven years after the death of his business partner Jacob Marley, the quiet isolation of Scrooge's gloomy chambers is shattered. Marley's tormented spirit appears, dragging heavy iron chains forged in life by greed and selfishness. Bearing a terrifying warning and announcing the impending arrival of three otherworldly spirits, the phantom offers Scrooge a harrowing final chance to confront his past, present, and future before his own fate is eternally sealed.
